Message to LSU-Alexandria grads: ‘Make it happen’

There are three types of people in the world, Brig. Gen. Clarence K.K. Chinn told graduates at Louisiana State University at Alexandria’s fall commencement Thursday.

“Those who make it happen,” Chinn said, “those who watch it happen and those who wonder what happened.”

Chinn, commanding general of Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center, made it clear to which group he thinks the 136 people who earned degrees Thursday belong.

“A difficult task, once started, must be completed,” he said. “Today, 136 of you made it happen. Not watching it happen and wondering why you didn’t graduate, making it happen. … You earned it, you did it, congratulations.”
